India, China And Ladakah

Why is this cold dry high altitude territory with its scarcely available vegetation is becoming a bone of contention between two giants of Asia? What a such mystery related to Ladakh? Why the barren land of Ladakh is turning into a point of disagreement between India and China? Who would have thought about armed clashes and threat of full scale war between the two over the possession of  Aksai Chin? No bullet could disturb the tranquility of this barren land over last 50 years but this summer use of firearms polluted the serene surroundings escalating war like situation which India in no way wants to come to be a reality.  Ladakh is surviving with non marked border surrounded by the barren mountains.Ladakh is also known as the land of passes is  part of Trans Himalayas having sixty thousand square kilometers inhabited by 3 lakh people now drawing worldwide interest due to ongoing border anxiety between India and China. Annexation of Tibet by China in 1950 fuelled its interest in Ladakh
