We celebrate the new year with a lot of cheers. However, what to mention the year 2020 leaving behind us a trail of bad memories and experiences. Would we be ready to forget the year 2020 started on with spread of Corona worldwide? How every country from poor to rich, and people in general merely showed helplessness. People were badly affected financially losing jobs and business suffered setbacks due to economic slowdown leading to non- recoverable mode. Scenarios became intolerably with daily news of people being afflicted and daily surging death figures with COVID-19 simply worsened the scene and shaken the morale of the people. It appeared the life came to a standstill motion. International airline operations were suspended everyplace. Still, the flights don't seem to be into a fully operational mode as restrictions are stopping the movement of international traveller. Only news channels were the source of the information at that time. Day by day, mounting EMI for housing, and other loans created true worst for everyone found no immediate answer at that time.
That was really an awful dangerous phase of our time fighting with Covid-19. With complete lock down conditions imposed everywhere however, still individuals weren't interested to take a seat down within their homes. Police used all approaches to save people from moving outside however, people continued dodging the people for out- of- door movements. Whatever local administration could manage at that time to limit unnecessary free movements of people for controlling the covid-19 was executed. Purpose was to keep social distancing to check on spread of pandemic. What could we see at that time only ambulances running on roads and announcements made on public address system asking people to stay in their house. We must salute to police for doing splendid job at that time of disaster standing wary helping people without caring for his or her own safety resulting in supreme sacrifice of their lives made by number of their colleagues whilst on duty. We should always remember them and hence they have to be noted be as true "Corona Warriors," together with medical personnel and doctors devoted themselves absolutely in saving the lives of others while putting themselves into danger zone.
Initially people reactions over restricting their free movements wasn't good however, bit by bit everyone understood the seriousness of the case and began cooperating leading to better handling of the bad situation. Nobody desired to enter into isolation as nobody had never been to such exposure before that. Quarantine word was used with a hate as somebody had committed the biggest crime of his life. Nobody wished to enter the quarantine ward and even neighbours used to act abnormally with Corona affected family. Some unpleasant clashes occurred between police and abstract minded people over medical check-ups hurting doctors and police personnel. Only draw-back of the lock down period was the closure of liquor vends which was the latter opened taking into consideration the overall public demand.
Lockdown proved a blessing in disguise for the environment. Lockdown caused about total change in climate. River water had become crystal clean with sounding chirping of birds creating it a very fascinating scene. What we saw visibility of rare species because of pollution free atmosphere unfastened. Metro cities furnished the feeling of a jungle life with free strolling of elephants, lions and tigers taking a stroll on highway questioning what happened in cities deserted by Covid-19 effect. Everywhere statics reflected the low pollution level helped people in taking clean view of the mountain which earlier on never happened. This was a brand new rare experience of such lot of people bringing a some cheers to their unhappy faces. With closure of industrial units brought a much- needed fresh air.
Again we are dealing with toxic atmosphere stuffed with pollutants dangerous for our survival. Pray to God for mitigating our sufferings and supply us a permanent relief from the pandemic at the earliest, and let the whole world pass through it with peace of mind in rest of everyone life. However, this is life and every day will bring both sorrows and happiness together. At least what we can pray to almighty to bestow us with courage to face calamities in life patiently. Already world has witnessed the largest crisis of the century and every country has suffered not only an economic loss but also the loss in concerning valuable talented lives perished because covid-19. Though we've not yet gained full control over covid-19 but with our determination to fight against this pandemic is exhibited in our attempts by bringing every activity to normalcy, and hopefully we are going to experience more developments.
Let's desire for the complete control on the emergence of the latest variants of covid-19 with continued clinical trials and salute to the scientists and corona warriors for their marvelous contribution towards mankind by putting their own lives in danger while saving the lives of countless people round the world. Enjoy your life with a new hope and vision leaving behind all misfortunes of 2020.
